Voor de meesten van hen is dat uit noodzaak: zij zijn nieuw bij hun huidige werkgever of hebben geen vaste baan kunnen vinden. Bijna 20 procent van alle flexwerkers geeft aan behoefte te hebben aan flexibiliteit of zegt geen behoefte te hebben aan zekerheid. Vergeleken met andere werknemers is deze groep vaker tevreden met hun werk en melden ze minder vaak burn-outklachten. Dit zijn werknemers die geen vaste uren werken; zij werken ook veelal in deeltijd. Van alle flexibele werknemers met een kleine parttime baan (werkweek van minder dan 20 uur) geeft ruim 40 procent aan behoefte te hebben aan een flexibel contract. Van de flexwerkers met een fulltime werkweek is dat 7 procent.<\/p>\n<p>Van de werknemers met een flexibele aanstelling hebben mannen vaker behoefte aan flexibel werk dan vrouwen: 22 tegenover 15 procent. Daarnaast geven oudere werknemers vaker aan flexibel werk te wensen. Onder 55- tot 65-jarigen geeft 29 procent van de flexwerkers aan flexibel te werken omdat men dat wil, terwijl dit voor 87 procent van de flexwerkers boven de 65 jaar het geval zorgen om het behoud van hun baan dan de overige flexwerkers: 16 tegenover 55 procent. Ook hebben ze in het afgelopen jaar minder vaak ander werk gezocht. Bijna de helft van deze groep verwacht over vijf jaar niet meer bij het huidige bedrijf te werken, onder de overige flexwerkers is dit minder dan 40 een flexibele arbeidsrelatie rapporteert burn-outklachten. Dat is minder dan onder zowel werknemers met een vaste arbeidsrelatie (14 procent) of onder overige flexwerkers (17 procent). Flexwerkers die een flexibel contract prettig vinden zijn bovendien vaker tevreden dan flexwerkers voor wie dit onvermijdelijk is of werknemers met een vast contract: 78 procent van hen is tevreden met de arbeidsomstandigheden en 80 procent is tevreden met het werk ‘in het algemeen’. Zij worden hier omschreven als flexwerkers ‘uit behoefte’. Werknemers in categorie 3 of 4 zijn samengeteld tot flexwerkers ‘uit noodzaak’.<\/p>\n<p> <\/p>\n<p>De vraag over de belangrijkste reden om geen vast dienstverband te hebben is niet gesteld aan werknemers met een vast contract zonder vaste uren, die geen oproep-\/inval\/-uitzendkracht zijn.
